Thoughts and reminiscences of the past form the artist¡¯s underlying attitude and response to the hutong of Beijing.An exquisite, murky grey tone and the solemn mood of dusk display the artist¡¯s own emotions effectively and steadfastly, while further strengthening the artist¡¯s own mind set and the work¡¯s fundamental direction.Articulating the collision between reality and traditional culture, concealed beneath a seemingly peaceful painting surface is a deeper layer of the emotions of suffering, which also gives expression to the artist¡¯s attention to and his entering into of traditional culture.
